It’s just before noon on a sizzling desert day in July. Interior designer Carol Adolph is inspecting the progress on a home she is decorating at the Hideaway, an exclusive golf community in La Quinta, Ca. The hundred degree plus heat doesn’t seem to bother her. She’s in the driveway chatting and laughing away on her cell phone with the homeowners in Chicago. She is giving them a detailed progress report on their vacation home in the sunny desert and assisting the client in making key design decisions. She is coordinating deliveries and the work of subcontractors. It is all in a day’s work of this hands-on, award-winning designer.
The snapshot portrays the essence of what Carol Adolph of Duende Designs is about. The word Duende refers to a unique magnetism, charm and charisma. And that is exactly the energy and spirit Carol brings to her work. Years of design expertise, coupled with her inherent sense of humor and practical sensibilities, produce results for satisfied clients.
After years in the corporate world she yearned to express her creativity. Over 25 years ago she decided to strike out on her own, establishing a successful interior design firm that served clients in the greater Boston area. She brought with her, from her corporate career, two valuable assets: attention to detail and impeccable follow through.
Her firm garnered the Best of Show award at the prestigious New England Home Show several years in a row. And, she was selected for many years in the coveted “Designer On-Call” program in the Boston Design Center.
Seeking more year-round sunshine and golf, she and her husband relocated to the Desert of Southern California in 2000. They love living here.
Her talent, experience and refreshingly attitude-free approach to interior design quickly won her a West Coast following including projects at Big Horn Golf Club, The Citrus, The Hideaway, Desert Horizons, Andalusia Country Club, Rancho La Quinta and more.
Carol’s clients on both coasts agree, working with Carol is “just plain fun.” Simply put, she makes the entire experience of decorating a home, or an executive office, a weekend getaway, or a makeover to attract buyers – easy, economical and enjoyable. “As yet, I have not decorated a private jet, but I am ready for it,” emphasizes Carol.
“My business is built on my flexibility to translate my client’s taste and style within a given budget,” she explains.
Her passion is to create a haven to capture your spirit, bringing to life a home that is unmistakably you.
